In m.267 here I’d like to insert 4 bars, splitting m267, so beat 1-2 stays 267, then beat 3-4 is part of new 271.
(This is very common when composing)
Apparently, yes: if I put my caret in the middle of a 4/4 bar, and I do Shift-B4enter, 4 bars worth of ‘time’, i.e. 16 beats, is inserted at that position. Barlines are adjusted accordingly.
