Inserts going grey and unresponsive

Some insert plugins are not responsive. Basically, I have Altiverb 7 playing in Cubase 13 and 15, the insert is not showing up as Blue, but what’s even weirder is that I can’t seem to interact with it. However, when I create a new project I can create an insert with Altiverb and interact with it.

So on my existing project some plugins when placed as an insert start out blue but quickly grey out and I can’t interact with them, but those same plugins are functioning properly in a brand new sequence. However, I have done so much work on this one project I really don’t want to start from scratch.

You probably enabled constrain delay compensation….it disables plugs with high latency

this usually happens when you have Constrain Delay Compensation enabled. Disable that e.g. in the project window toolbar (the clock symbol left), usually does the trick.
