Hi, ( as an ex Finale user)
I was able to install Dorico Pro 5 all its component on my desktop.
I need to have it installed on my Surface Pro ARM Based
All is working except that I cannot have Dorico find some essential elements for playback
Please do from Dorico’s main menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report. That creates a zip file on your desktop. Please attach that to a reply here. That will give me a better overview and I will come back with more advice afterwards. Thanks
Actually HALion Sonic and Groove Agent SE are installed with you, but the vstscanner did not like them and put them on the blocklist. Why? I don’t know.
Let’s enforce a rescan and see if that helps. Therefore go to Edit > Preferences, choose on the left the VST Plug-ins tab and on the right scroll all the way down. Click the Clear Audio Engine Cache button and restart Dorico. How about then, do they still don’t turn up?
Hi Ulf,
I’ve followed your instruction it did not work…In the mean time I’ve installed Dorico 6 hoping it would maybe solve the problem but no…
Now it does not tell me essential elements are missing but in play mode none of the Steinberg plug in (sounds are available) Halion, Iconica, etc though they are available on the desk top. They are loaded but not recognized by Dorico as it loads.
Ah, now I understand, you are on a MS Surface and running Windows on ARM.
HALion Sonic and Groove Agent did get blocklisted with you because of unsupported architecture Arm_64ec.
Please read carefully this article from our Support.
Thank you for redirecting me for the specific arm64 applications for Halion and Groove agent
It is now loading without asking for missing VST’s. It is still in play mode missing (VST) having the 2 exclamation points for (missing VST).
I still can’t assign a sound from a VST in the playback mode
I tried to clear the cache with no result
How can I direct Dorico to where the VST’s are located.
Then try to install the Win x64 versions of the plug-ins ( HALion Sonic, GASE).
But I can’t guarantee anything. Officially Dorico is not Windows on Arm compatible, yet, and I don’t know if Dorico and all the components (like HALion and GrooveAgent) will work if run in the emulator. I don’t have a PC with an ARM processor to try it out myself.
