Installation on Mac

Hi,

Had a fairly offputting start today. I’m on a MacPro. I got through disk 1 but it wouldn’t eject. I had to quit the installer and eject then start the installer again with disk 2. There was no option to select destination for either disk 1 or 2, the installer simply skipped that part and installed on my system drive.

I’ve found the ‘Steinberg’ folder with all the content and have copied that to my samples drive, what I need to know is how to tell the Hal4 browser where the new location is? I’ve spent a fair while poking around on the interface and it hasn’t become obvious, I also looked in the manual but so far haven’t found any info about it.

Cheers,

Andy.

When you copied the content to the samples drive:

  1. If you have not done so, delete the the content in the Steinberg folder on your internal HD. Keep this Finder window open.
  2. Create a new Finder window and navigate to your sample drive. Make aliases of the Steinberg content on your sample drive.
  3. Bring the aliases back over to where the original files were first kept.
  4. Delete the aliases on your sample drive.
  5. Close and restart Cubase.

Hi, thanks for that, I’ll have a go over the next few days when I get the time.

Cheers,

Andy.
