I purchased 8.5 and installed from CD. Files are missing. None of the suggestions on forums and elsewhere online seem to fit situation. Can’t load the basic production templates because of missing files.

Did you install the whole content from the 2nd DVD? You can also download the full installer and instal it from the file then.
