Hi, I have installed C11, H/Sonic, Groove Agent onto my new laptop, after working offline on my old pc for several years. I have basically duplicated the software via the download assistant. I have updated everything on both old pc and the new laptop. MySteinberg account recognizes the new laptop in my devices section, and all seems good. However, due to the new licensing system I am unable to activate my products on the new laptop. I get the message, An error has been signalled by the Protected Object Server, as I try to launch Cubase. I have a dongle and a soft eLicence on my old pc, the latter being the latest version, but if I remove the dongle from my old pc, Cubase will not launch. If I place the dongle into the new laptop, it is not recognized. I have searched the forum, support pages and online, but I cannot work out how to fix this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi and welcome to the forum,
If you are using Cubase Pro or Artist (with the USB-eLicenser), just plug it in and you are ready to go.
If you are using Cubase Elements, you have to update to the current non-eLicenset version (currently we have Cubase 15).
If you are using Cubase LE or AI you are allowed to update to Cubase 15 for free, here.
Are you sure you have the eLicenser software installed?
Have a look at this support article, it describes how to uninstall it, but there isxalso a screenshot showing where to set a check mark to get the software reinstalled.
Make sure to restart the Download Assistant.
JuergenP, thank you so much, your solution was spot on. I am ecstatic.
Hi Martin, thank you for your welcome and your input. I am using Cubase Pro 11. Jeurgens solution to tick the box, Optional Runtime Components, in settings, in Download Manager, then restart the Manager fixed my problem. I am greatful.
