Installing NI Komplete 7. Where do I install the VSTs?

I am in the process of getting my new PC up and running for music making. I’ve just installed Cubase 7, the next thing I want to do is to install Native Instruments Komplete 7 (12 disks), which is fairly old now - I last used it on a PC laptop, many moons ago…

So… I’ve got to the bit in the installation where I need to specify where Komplete’s VST plug ins will be installed. Looking in Program Files/Steinberg/Cubase7 I see four VST folders: VST sound, VST XMLs, VST3, VSTPlugins. My question is simply: into which of these should my 64bit Komplete VST plug-ins be installed? Or should I create a different folder altogether? Thanks in advance!

You can install VST’s wherever you want. As long as you point “Cubase’s VST 2.x Plug-in Paths” to the directory you installed in.

I would not suggest to install them in the Cubase directory though.
Rather go for %PROGRAMFILES%\Steinberg\VSTPlugins\ or %PROGRAMFILES%\VSTPlugins
This way you won’t run into any trouble when you want to remove Cubase.

Many thanks for the reply. That clarifies things.
