Installing the Included Dorico Sound Libraries Onto a SSD

Hello,

I got in touch with support and they suggested that I installed all of the sound libraries on a SSD. My plan was to create a folder on my SSD that was named, “Dorico Sound Libraries”, and have a sub folder for each of the different sound libraries. I have two questions when I do this. Is having sub folders for all the different sound libraries OK, and when I use the Steinberg Download Assistant to download all of the sound libraries do I point Steinberg Download Assistant to the correct sub folder that’s on my SSD? Thanks for the help!

I think the usual advice is to let the Download Assistant install things into their default locations, and then use the Steinberg Library Manager to move them wherever you want.

See, I tried that, but the Steinberg Library Manager when I started to move all of the files said that there were corrupt files somehow. That’s why I’m now confused on what to do.

Also, when I moved everything via the Steinberg Library Manager, the files were still on my main hard drive. Is that normal?

Check the file size of those remaining on your original drive; they might just be pointers to the now-relocated files themselves.

At some point @Ulf may spot this thread and be able to give you better (more precise) advice.

@Ulf thanks so much! I don’t know if you saw my new post about how the Library Manager isn’t showing any of my downloaded libraries, which is one at the moment, but I’m getting that “error” as well.

Well, someone messaged me stating that I should make a new post every time I have a question. So that’s what I did.

Right, but as Derrek already said, same topic, same thread. Otherwise it is difficult to help. I also first answered here in this thread before seeing your other thread. If I would have known about the other thread beforehand, I would have answered differently. So “same topic, same thread” also helps the helpers to keep an overview. So please let’s stick to that principle.
