Instant project tab play

So… I would just so much like to be able to switch from a project tab to another one without having to “activate” one project at the expense of the other. So, just switching from a project tab to another and playing it. And yes, again… like in Reaper…

Does Reaper have all of the open projects loaded into memory simultaneously?

In Cubase, there are no project tabs. Projects have independent settings and multiple child windows. When you activate a project, it loads all of the project settings, pushes the configuration to your audio interface, and loads all of the plugins into memory. If that process were triggered every time you switched focus to an inactive project’s window, it would be kind of annoying IMHO. I often have multiple projects open, and I want to be able to decide which one is active.

Well in Reaper you don’t have to decide… Once you load a projet in a new tab, there are all active.
The goal is not to have several projects loaded but let say, two projects (in my case), then you can switch from one to the other in one click, zero time, and compare or do whatever you need to do.

Once you try it, you can see how practicle it is.

No need to mention Reaper all the time, the request is enough.

Huuummmm, it’s just to point out where you can see the feature if one want to see by himself… but, of course, feel free to AAAARRRGGGHHHH! if you feel better

Reaper isn’t the only software with tabs - my browser has, Word has, even Notepad has.

Really… Try to switch from a Cubase project to another in Notepad then… That was not the point

Surely the point is that having multiple projects loaded would be an unnecessary overhead in terms of CPU and RAM. Most times activating a project only takes a few seconds … in my workflow that is an acceptable lag.
