The Alto Sax 1 and 2 abbreviations are not following the format of all the others. How can I fix this?
I think there could be a few reasons.
If you upload an empty version of your project then we can tell you which one it is and how to fix it.
Untitled Project 1 - Full score - 01 Flow 1.musicxml (43.7 KB)
Sorry for the delay. Here you go.
You’ll need to attach an actual Dorico project. The XML opens with my settings.
Untitled Project 1.dorico (903.8 KB)
I added more measures. The problem is on the second page.
Thanks, @christianrgarnes.
It’s something to do with the instrument transposition…
I’m not sure why this works, but:
- Select the Alto Sax 1 instrument
- Edit Instruments dialog
- Edit Instrument Names
- Change Show Transpositions from Never to Follow Layout Options
- Click OK and close all dialogs
Repeat these steps but change the transpositions back to Never and all should appear as expected.
It could be some kind of a bug.
I followed those steps and now the two saxophone parts are not condensed.
Well, as you can see in my screenshot, it worked for me.
Would you like to PM me your complete file and I will see what happens?
EDIT: Make sure you close both dialogs; not just the Edit Instrument Names one.
Hi @christianrgarnes, there is something invisible that makes the short instrument names different. To solve this:
- reset the instrument names to default for both alto sax 1 and 2
- reapply the font size 11 for the full name of both instruments
Result:
Thank you. That solved the problem.
