Hi there, I’m writing an orchestral piece and am wanting to signal an instrument change, however whenever I use it to prescribe a warning or a change, it snaps it to the top of the score like so:
Is there a way I can do it so that the instrument change is above the instrument that is going to change? I.e, the “to Bass Clarinet” is above Clarinet 2. I know I can move some things around in engrave mode, but I’d like to be able to anchor it to the bar so I don’t have to worry about it moving.
That is weird - the warning text should appear above the appropriate instrument. In galley view in Write mode (or Setup mode), do you have both clarinet and bass clarinet assigned to the same player?
How did you enter that change warning? Dorico enters instrument change labels and warnings automatically provided that music is entered at both instruments held by the same player. As I see no music on your first page, I suspect that you entered the text manually, perhaps as system text (alt+shift+X, which will show at the top of the page in the full score)?
If so, there is no need. Simply enter the music and Dorico will take care of the labels. If not, then you’ll get better answers if you upload (part of) the project.
