Instrument filter overlay remains visible after switching to Setup mode

Hello Guys,
another Bug:
When creating new Instruments, the little dialogue Window doesn’t disappear … see video.
best regards

You speak of creating new instruments (actually, players), but I don’t see you invoking the new player/section tools. Am I missing something?

yes I do; its just out of the recorded screen

I’ve tried III times to replicate the behavior, but it works just fine for me here (Mac OS 14.7; Dorico 5.1.60.2187). I even tried it with extant players selected, as you have, and without them. No difference.

One difference I do see is that it your screen capture the players filter from Write Mode is visible.

I think that’s the point. @black_robin still has the instrument filter overlay visible. Like you, mine disappears when I go into Setup mode.

Right! but that happens occasionally; not every time…

Ah, got it. That is much clearer than:

So the bug has nothing to do with instrument/player creation. It’s that the instrument filter overlay sometimes doesn’t disappear when switching to Setup mode.

Right. - sorry if there was sth misleading with wording

@black_robin, I’ve taken the liberty of adding clarifying details and the “issue” tag to your thread title.

I’ve seen reports of this before, but we haven’t pinned down the steps required to reproduce the problem on demand. If you can reproduce the problem at will, please provide us with the steps, and we’ll be pleased to investigate further.

Hi Daniel,
I think i figured out, when it appears … see video:

  • i just updated to the latest

    Version 5.1.70.2200 (Nov 18 2024)
    Dorico 5 AudioEngine Version 5.6.42.5

I can confirm what happens in the video: the Instrument filter overlay gets in the way in Setup mode, when setting up a new document from scratch (Dorico 5.1.70.2200, Windows 10).

For me the overlay does not appear in Setup mode when I switch to it in an existing document, it disappears as it should.

Thanks for pinning this down. I can fix this now I can reproduce it.
