Is there a way to create custom instrument group bracketing/grouping so it will save with a Project Template?
It seems only those brackets that are part of the groups that Dorico defaults to remain (strings, pairs of ww’s, etc.), but not additional ones, even if I enter them on the first bar.
If you tick the box “Preserve existing flows” while saving as project template, then your custom bracketing will be saved in the template (along with any other notation already in the project file).
Thanks - I’ll try that. I worry that a lot of un-needed stuff might also be preserved, but it’s certainly worth trying.
Just delete all music and other notation before saving as template.
