I’ve been facing a problem when trying to change instrument names in languages other than English.
After changing the default name for instruments and (resetting them to show), I want to change some that are not correct or are not the names that are commonly in use. For instance, in LA Spanish instead of Trompa for horn the name Corno is preferred. I can change the name in the Instrument Definition window but if I set the name as default for subsequent usage, the name is changed in English too and that is not a desired result. In fact, I still see Flautín instead of Piccolo in the instrument list.
Is there a way to change the instrument names for specific languages only without changing them in English?
Besides, there are some mistakes in the names in Spanish, the most shocking one is that Contrabass is translated as Bajo doble and that makes no sense. The correct name is Contrabajo.

We provide both “Contrabajo” and “Bajo doble” as translations for double bass/contrabass in Spanish, to my knowledge.
If I remember rightly, you need to make sure that the instrument name language is set to Spanish on the Language page of Engraving Options before you make edits in the instrument editor.
Thanks a lot, Daniel, for your comment and reply. In fact, now I have no problems with contrabajos, but any other change I make is still not working as expected. Of course I change the names in Spanish after changing it in Language, it would not make sense otherwise, but when I change the name back to English it retains the name in Spanish. Even when I close the project and create new ones the names are kept as I changed them (in Spanish) even when I create a project in English, and if I then change it back to English, it appears like this when I change the project language into Spanish.
For instance: A project created in Spanish, the horns read Trompas so I changed them to Cornos. When I change the language to English or create a new project in English, the horns retain the name Cornos. When (in English) I change them back to Horns now they are horns also in Spanish (see the pic)
I have not messed with other languages as I don’t want to ruin them :S
I’m thinking there is a bug involved. Please check it yourself of someone in your team and let me know if I’m doing something wrong or it is an unexpected situation. Hugs, and thanks for version 6 (just let us tick out solved or skipped items in the Proofreading window, hopefully in 6.1)
Ah, even when I press “Reset to default” the name stays as it was saved, in whatever language it was.
