Instrument name disappears in Engrave mode

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on adjusting instrument names in my score. I’d like to modify Flute 3 by adding “(Piccolo)”, similar to what I’ve done for (Oboe 3) and (Clarinet 3).

However, I’ve noticed that the name disappears and doesn’t show up in Engrave mode.

Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?

I think you need to create a custom condensing group for Flutes 1 and 2. This allows the Flute3 (Piccolo) to remain separate.

Hi Janus, I didn’t quite understand how I should proceed with the customization. Could you please explain the steps? I would be very grateful.

Layout options>Players>Condensing… and there create a custom condensing group. (Click the “+” button and select the two flutes)

(You will see that currently you have an automatic group containing all three flutes, this will disappear when you create the custom group)
