So I will use one of the workarounds with multiple staves…

On the same subject I have a little issue.
I have a mallet player who plays 4 instruments during the arrangement. To avoid confusion, I want the name for the player to be “Mallet Percussion” and I can see that in the part but not in the score?
Staff labels shown to the left of the initial barline in systems use the instrument name of whatever instrument is played on that staff.
The name that appears at the top of part layouts is the layout name. More info here.
In the next version of Dorico it will be possible to specify that the staff label in a layout should use the player name rather than the instrument name, but that’s not an option in Dorico 3.5 today.
