Instrument output track routing changes not reflected in Console view

I’m using a VST instrument with output channels activated. These outputs appear as separate tracks under the main instrument track in the Arrange window. When I select one of these output tracks and change its routing in the Inspector, the change isn’t reflected in the Console view. However, when I make the same kind of routing change on a regular audio track, it does update correctly in the Console."

Why does it work like this? I am using Nuendo 15.

I discovered that these output tracks are not independent — they share routing with the main VST instrument track. If I change the routing on any one output track (via the Inspector), that change is applied to all output tracks and to the main VST instrument track as well, and this is correctly reflected in the Arrange window.

However, the Console view does not reflect this shared change consistently:

  • The main VST instrument channel in the Console correctly updates to show the new routing.
  • The output track channels in the Console still show the old, stale routing — even though their actual routing has changed (as confirmed in the Arrange window and Inspector).

By contrast, when I make a routing change on a regular audio track, the Console updates correctly and immediately.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a VST instrument track and activate multiple output channels.
  2. Confirm the output channels appear as separate tracks under the main instrument track in the Arrange window.
  3. Select one output track and change its routing in the Inspector.
  4. Observe that the routing change applies to all output tracks and the main instrument track (visible in the Arrange window).
  5. Open the Console view and check the routing shown for the output tracks vs. the main instrument track.

Expected behavior:
The Console view should reflect the current routing for all tracks, including output tracks, consistent with what’s shown in the Arrange window/Inspector.

Actual behavior:
The Console view only updates the main VST instrument channel’s routing; the output track channels’ routing display remains stale/unchanged.
