Instrument "override sound" issue

I have a string ensemble (all NotePerformer), with each staff containing voice 1 stem up and stem down sections, and then a 2nd voice with a solo of that instrument assigned.

Somehow, my playing techniques got reset, and I had to reload the Playback Template.

However, now when I try to select a solo violin, the menu folds over itself and renders it impossible to select a soloist.
When I click on Override Sounds, the menu initially swings out to the right, but as soon as I try to go one level deeper (to actually select full section, ½ section, soloist, etc…) the menu opens to the LEFT. As soon as I try to move my mouse or the cursor, it completely deselects the instrument selection in the override window.

Is there some glitch on my computer with my screen being set to the wrong resolution or something?
Or is this a known issue with Dorico?

The solo I am trying to assign is on channel 7, so the 7th column in the NotePerformer window.

Menus all open fully in a straight line for channels 1 through 6, and then 10 through 15.
This issue only happens with columns 7, 8 and 9.

Is there some way to avoid this incredibly annoying problem?

And while I’m at it, why does Dorico seem to forget every once in a while what Playback Template I’m using?

Which version of NP do you have?

This issue has been reported when NP5 came out, but AFAIK it has been fixed in a further update.

Latest version is 5.1.2.

I’m stumped.
How do I find out which version of NP I have?
I know it’s at least version 5, but otherwise I can’t seem to find the specifics.

I suspect this might be the problem. I remember NOT updating to the more recent version when they announced that the NPPE would no longer function.
I had recently purchased BBC symphony library (it was on special.)
However, I’ve actually been unsatisfied with how it works and the results it gives, and basically only use NP now.

Ahhh! I’m so used to looking for the “About…” choice in a menu, that it never dawned on me to look way down there.

So it seems I have NP5.0.0

I guess I can uninstall BBCSO and just update to the latest NP version, then.

If you’re staying on 5.0.0 for the ability to “use” other libraries, then you’ll have to put up with the bug.

Otherwise, you just update.

I’ve updated now. I figure I use NP more than I actually ended up using BBCSO.

I did notice that the reverb doesn’t quite seem the same with this newer version of NP. I normally don’t touch any of those defaults except for the overall volume.
It’s nothing I can’t get used to, but it just sounds a bit surprising. The hall sound is… larger?
