I noticed while looking through the setup for “modern orchestra” instruments like the English Horns were outputting to the extreme right.
I wasn’t looking at balance, just the stereo output. Other instruments I checked seemed more balanced.
I didn’t go through all of them though. Was the original intent to provide a complete unpanned instruments as a starting point?
The projects you can create via templates in fact don’t have any kind of playback or audio setup defined at all, so the pan values you get when the sounds are loaded into HALion Sonic SE 2 will be the default pan values defined in the various patches.
The english horn is normally at the extreme right of the first row of woodwind, as viewed from the audience. In Mahler II, for instance, it is a long way from the centre of the stage.
