When I’m recording a MIDI track with my keyboard, before playing the first note, I have to hit my joystick so that the volume is set to a good level, otherwise, it is always too low. Is there a setting I’m missing or something?
Difficult to say with the information given? If it’s an external midi device the low volume might be set in the patch itself? Maybe you saved the template or project with a low initial volume? Take a look at the mixer before correcting the level? Like I said, difficult to diagnose with the information given.
Many vsti’s use cc1 or cc11 to control volume. My track templates have an initial value set at the very beginning of the track. Try entering or recording cc1 with a value of 64 to 100 at the start of the track.
Record and then adjust the velocity from the piano roll manually.
