A quick observation for today:
I’ve noticed that when you change the language for instruments labels (Engrave options > Language > Instrument names), the German version uses “Viola” for the viola.
I would have preferred “Bratsche/Bratschen (plur) [abb Br.]” instead, as many composers use this name (all those from the 19th century, but also Berg, Schoenberg and others). Any advice from our German friends on the forum?

That’s correct, and for these composers, tempo markings and expression text are often written in German rather than Italian. However, most composers use the term “Viola.”
You can create a variant of the viola called “Bratsche” and save it as a default (with the asterisk). Then you can choose whether to use “Viola” or “Bratsche”. I would prefer “Viola” to be the standard name.
