Intel Pentium G3258, Hyper-threading, and Cubase?

Building a new back-up rig as a light workstation for mostly post-prod stuff. Doesn’t need to be too powerful…studio B work.

I’m intrigued by the Intel Pentium G3258. It has amazing reviews as a bang for buck CPU with great OCing capabilities.

However, I see that its only dual-core and does not have hyperthreading.

Does this rule it out for strong Cubase usage?

Thks!!

Or any other decent CPU’s around the $100 range? I’ve got decent OCing skills, but no master am I.

Should I look into some AMDs?

Thks!
