This has happened twice to me over the last few days (Cubase Pro 13.0.30). I have a project with about 30 MIDI tracks routed to 6 different instrument tracks. When loading the project for the first time after launching Cubase, the output mapping for all 30 MIDI tracks has reset to the first instrument I added to this project. However, closing and re-opening the project restored the correct routings. Strange, no?
any reason you’re not on the latest version?
Only reason is I usually wait a couple of months after each release before installing (unless there’s something terribly broken that I need the fix for). I’ll go ahead and update today and see if this continues to be an issue or not. Thanks.
Note that I upgraded 1 week ago to 13.0.4.1 and this didn’t happen again… until today. So maybe one out of 25 project loads, something like that. As before, closing and re-opening the project fixed it. Annoying, but not a major issue as long as you know you can just reload the project to fix it.
Yeah, difficult to troubleshoot.
Are any of the instrument tracks disabled when you save and close the poject? (just guessing here)
Nope. I know nothing of Cubase internals, but perhaps a race condition where the instruments have yet to load when the track assignments are being made?
I was thinking about a bug that has to do with disabled instruments that lose their routing. Doesn’t really seem the same.
Hopefully you’ll find a way reproduce this
