Interface (Steinberg UR22C) not in my audio connections?

Can anyone tell me how my Audio interface (Steinberg UR22C) has just suddenly disappeared from my list in Audio Conns? Have updated driver 1hr ago and no difference. PC and I/F switched off then back on and no difference.
Only thing available in Audio Device (in/outs) is Steinberg Built-in ASIO driver!

Other connections e.g. speakers, headphones are fine when i play other media e.g. media files or youtube.
Any advice or fix would be appreciated.

Hi,
first, you need to select the correct driver under Studio/Studio Setup/Audio System.
Afterwards, you can select the inputs and outputs accordingly.

The only device in studio setup is Steinberg “built-in” ASIO… where is the actual Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO gone?

This picture below is of an old issue i had and you can see it on that screenshot.

Has this BUILT-IN driver replaced or does it work alongside my interface? I have no idea.

I opened project this morning and i had no sound at all to cubase! Strange to me as i do not have sound problems ever.

I hope you understand my concern?

John V

Yes, I do understand now. This is actually what it should look like, you are right:

Apparently, it does not look like this is in your current setup.
Have you installed the latest driver with administrator rights? Maybe you need to open Cubase with administrator rights, too. Which OS are you on?
Is the Basic FX Suite that comes with the UR22C activated and running?

i have admin access and have done all that 2-3 hrs ago. Regarding FX Suite i do not use and never have in 5yrs is it important for Music Production? i thought it was for live streaming lol.
Here is SS of Audio device

Thanks for your ongoing help Reco29

Edit: I have got sound by the way which you will probably see from the last picture but i still have major concern with Studio setup>>Audio Device.

Also getting latency!
Is this ur22c fooked?

If you tried to update the driver, I think you deinstalled it by accident.
Try the installation again. Don’t forget to reboot the computer.

No, not at all. In fact, have a look at this so you can see it has the latest and best driver available.

That driver was installed end of 2024 and also reinstalled again yesterday morning and PC was rebooted.

John V

No version info? Windows driver dialog? Really?

We asked several times about the ASIO driver. Your screenshot doesn’t show an ASIO driver.

That is why we think that you removed it.

Error. wrong account

I have not removed any driver. As a matter of course, in november, I got my driver from the support>>downloads>>hardware>>ur22c. Then when issue first occurred the other day i downloaded driver again and INstalled it. It is a very basic task to install a driver so this is why i am perplexed as to what has gone wrong.

Hi John,
it just happens every now and then that installing/removing/updating drivers goes along with the most unusual behaviour. Wouldn’t be the first time and I had my fair share of fun with that, too.

So, why don’t you just follow @st10ss’s advice:

Takes three minutes top and we will know more afterwards. What you think?

Hello Reco29 & st10ss:,
I am coming back on here with my tail somewhat between my legs! The driver that i Down Loaded off Steinberg Support>>Downloads>>Hardware etc, was not installing onto PC/UR22C because the boxes in the installer were not checked (X) and i did not realise this. I did use to have YAMAHA Steinberg USB ASIO driver on pc/Daw as one of the screen shots indicates, but it vanished (and yes i know this happens). My investigations are leading me to believe that i have some sort of Administration problems (which happens), even though i have FULL admin access. In the meantime i went to my local Music Gear retailer this morning and upgraded to a (hopefully) better Interface (which is SUPER). However, when i do get to the bottom of this PC security issue, i will try again on the UR22c. If it works, Brilliant i will keep as spare, if it don’t then i will launch it! Sorry for my confusion’s gentlemen
