'Invalid Project File'

I am using Cubase 10.30

A project I was working on only yesterday will not open.

I get message:

Invalid Project File

I have multiple .bak files going back weeks but they too return same error when I try to open them. This is a potential disaster for me if I cannot fix and would greatly appreciate any help / support.

Tell me, please what is the file size of your cpr file?
I have the same issue on 10.0.30 and 10.0.20 with big template cpr files

My .cpr file is 6.8Mb

I am getting the same issue. Was this ever resolved?

try starting in safe mode

start the program and immediately hold cntrl+alt+sgift while it boots.

‘disable program preferences’

This just happened to me. Cubase Pro 10.5.20 on Windows 10 Home 1903.

Worked on a project this morning. Closed Cubase. Opened the same project a few hours later and got this message. Project file size is about 1.6 MB. Same message in Safe Start Mode (tried with disabled preferences and with 3rd party plugins disabled).

.baks for the same project open OK. Other projects open OK.

Any tips other than moving on and just dealing with the lost work? I’ve also sent an e-mail to Steinberg US support.
