When I use Invert Selection, it inverts states 1,+2 ↔ 3 altogether.
I want a command that inverts only states 2 ↔ 3.
That way, I can preview or delete the parts that were silenced by the fade.
To maybe help differentiate these, I am reading this as an invert selected for the current selection range (2← →3), and then an invert selection for the selected time range (1+2 ←→3)

Yes. I agree. When inverting a faded selection the fade inside that selection should be inverted.
If I’d want to invert the whole enchilada, like it is now, I think that could be achieved by using a modifier key of some sort in front of the commando.
