Invisible line text

When I set a line to ‘invisible’ in Dorico and add text, the line doesn’t appear on the screen, but it still shows up when I export to PDF. How can I remove the line completely? Or is there a way to place graphics outside the music frame?

As far as I remember, it’s better to make your invisible line with a dashed line body style (not a solid line, as it is in your file) set to width=0. I’ve tried a pdf export with this new setting, it seems to work.

The PDF spec states that a line of width 0 should print as thin as possible, so basically a hairline. In Dorico you need to use a dashed line with a dash-gap pattern of 0; 0 or use a line using a repeatable symbol of nothing.

@FredGUnn @charles_piano Thanks.

Just to clarify: what I did was this, but @FredGUnn pointed out that only the Dash-gap pattern value does the trick here, regardless of the line width value, which has no effect once the Dash-gap pattern is set to 0; 0
