With the arrival of Apple’s new system that will be on the 12th with iOS 17, I would like to know if we have news here regarding new functions in Dorico for IPAD? Or even fixes from version 5 that some things don’t work as they should!
I don’t think Dorico releases are in any way necessarily tied to iOS releases.
I’m referring to the system! It was in the beta version here on iOS 17 and I saw some things that didn’t work! I had to go back to the latest version of 16.6!
Usually, we get a word from Steinberg to tell whether their software are compatible with new system versions once they’re not beta and have been carefully tested.
I suppose what you’ve experienced is that there are compatibility problems as things stand now
Yes, bro, I get it! That’s why my question is whether there will be any news even in Dorico or corrections, but anyway we’ll wait there!
To expand on what Marc said…
Once Apple finalizes the new version, then Dorico will announce whether the current version works with it. Since Apple has been known to change things at the last minute before releasing their final version (understandable to a certain point), Dorico does not release an officially compatible version until it has tested its version against the final Apple OS. Understandably, that takes a few days.
When a compatible version is available, then the Dorico Team will announce it; at least this has been their practice in the past.
That’s exactly what I wanted to know bro, thank you for the information from you and your colleagues above!
To me it read like you expect a new Dorico version just because of a new iOS release. Perhaps I misunderstood. Anyway, the release cycle is not tied to Apple’s timeline of releases.
