If I click “Rename” nothing happens.
Same, if I click “Cancel”.
I just keep on working on that file.
At the same time, why does it say “File has been deleted”? because I have not deleted the file.
Another strange thing: if I tap onto the “Share” button, choose “as Dorico Project” and then “Save to Files”, the file explorer only pops up very shortly and disappears. So I can’t do a Save. Luckily the project does auto-save when I close the project.
Is this project located in iCloud Drive? I presume it must be. Are you sure there’s no way the file could have been modified in iCloud Drive via another device?
Hello Daniel, yes file location is in iCloud.
That is, where I duplicated my original project file (version in e-Minor) to have a second project - to make a separate version in a Minor. Both files have different names of course.
If I remember correctly: I did open the a-Minor version file on my desktop computer to do the initial transposition. From then on I worked on the project on the iPad.
On the desktop I have Dorico version 4, on the iPad version 5.
So far I had no issues working on one project with different Dorico versions.
In the Files App I double-tap a .dorico file which has its place in iCloud. Beforehand I had made sure, the file had been loaded completly. Dorico launches, but gives an error “can’t open file”. I close Dorico, then from within Dorico “open other file” and navigate to the same file. This way it opens-no problem.
from within Dorico I try to Export/Save the open project to File. If I click onto the Folder symbol, the destination menu only pops up very shortly and is instantly gone. So I can’t save the project under a new name.
if I try to export to music.XML nothing happens. So this is also not possible.
export to WAV and pdf does work
further experiment: I create a new project in Dorico. Save it to iCloud location. this time no problems.
it seems, problems do exist, if existing files try to get opened.
I am aware that “iCloud” is actually a folder on the device, which gets synchronised to other locations via the internet.
just in case, I will create a Diagnostic report and attach it here: Dorico Diagnostics.zip (154.8 KB)
This after unsuccessfully having tried to save as Dorico project.
