Hi, considering upgrading to the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX9 83DF00F4MH, 32k ram, i9 14900HX… Running the new Windows.
I have a uad card… Been reading the i9 could give dropouts? Or is this old news… The Ryzen 9 version of the laptop is much more expensive.

The problem with laptops is if there is a bottleneck. It’s not an easy job, or you may not be able to swap the part that is causing it. I would never buy an off the shelf laptop. In the uk I would go to SCAN who tests their laptops for audio. If you’re not in the uk I’m sure there are other companies like that. In the uk I mention SCAN as I have used them but there are others.
Wouldn’t touch this with a bargepole. Unless it’s been fixed?
32k RAM? That must be an extremely efficient version of Windows. 
More seriously: On a music laptop, I’d probably spend the extra money to get a modern AMD mobile CPU for the superior performance / heat ratio.
