Is anyone else having latency issues using klevgrand plugins?

Hi, just per curiosity…because I note latencies using that brand while from other brand that’s OK, or don’t feel it…

Thank you,

I have Brusfri and Tomofon. Both feel like they don’t add any noticeable latency to me, but that’s subjective, as I haven’t measured anything.

Plug-ins that use a look-ahead buffer (Compressors, Limiters, Dynamics Processors, Noise Reducers, Linear EQs etc.) can and most likely will add some degree of latency and that is something that has to be compensated by the host hence PDC (Plug-In Delay Compensation) is a quite frequently requested feature for a future Cubasis update.

Without knowing which effects from said manufacturer are being used I’d say it’s more of a ‘generic’ issue with all plug-in types mentioned at the beginning of the post.

The downside with hosts implementing PDC is that the ‘realtime performance’ (ie. playing & recording live) will suffer depending on how much the plug-isn have to be compensated, this doesn’t affect playback, only real-time performance.

Cheers!

Hi Samuel, thanks for your reply, yes right " look-ahead buffer (Compressors, Limiters, Dynamics Processors, Noise Reducers, Linear EQs etc.)", but even with disactivating the look ahead buffer (if the option exist on the plugins…) , there are still latencies compare to Fabfilter (for exemple) with the same type of plugins in playback . So, I get your point regarding PDC, and the solution is to not use those plugins up to a potential implementation of PDC in Cubasis in the future, because I use those plugins in playback mode only…

Cheers,
