Please just tell us specifically what you expect, with all details about the track and parameter in question, and what actually happens.
You can use write automation on a group track, at least I can.

The information I provided is the W button cannot be activated, leading to my - some would say logical - guess that it is not possible to use Write automation on a Group track.
Since it is, I have to work out why the W buttons on all my group tracks cannot be activated.
What I want: to use Write automation on Group tracks.
My Group tracks were locked
