Is it possible to export articulations via xml or midi?

This is going the other way than usual. But is it possible to export articulations as separate lanes for import into a DAW? I’ve been helping with mockups with somebody who prefers scoring on paper, but my best template is with separate articulation lanes. I see that there is some form of ID in the playing technique lanes, so I’m guessing in may be possible, even eventually. What I would like is all staccato notes to be one MIDI track lane where the staccato notes hold their position, then the legato’s, etc. As it stands right now, I need to export the whole line and copy and delete over again with lots of room for user error.

Unfortunately, expression maps are not an option for me as I’m not on Cubase. Regardless, I’m enjoying Dorico and I’m excited to see what’s next. If anybody has a way to do this, I would be very grateful.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum, tcwparker. At the moment, because each instrument is played by a single endpoint, everything will be exported on a single channel, but in the future it will be possible to specify multiple endpoints for individual instruments, and just as the current MIDI controllers, keyswitches etc. are included when you export a MIDI file, in the future such a setup would also be exported to MIDI as well.

Hi Daniel, thank you. That is great news! Just knowing that this is going to be an option in the future is going to help my workflow immensely. I will look forward to that.
