I realize this may have simple answer, but I can’t find it. Is there a way to keep the Markers WINDOW, not the Markers Track(s), visible at all times? It’s really aggravating to have to reopen it constantly when I’m trying to conform markers or add notes or descriptions after I get new picture versions for projects I’m working on. I don’t want to look at separate Marker tracks or the Inspector, I simply want to be able to see everything in one place where I can edit it as I go.
Frankly, the window focus and visibility issues with Cubase are completely baffling to me. I use a number of DAWs, along with all my other apps, and Cubase is the ONLY one that has this behavior. In every other app, windows for major functions are persistent until you close them, regardless of what you’re looking at or which app is active. The “Always On Top” option should be available in every single window if Steinberg wants to keep handling window focus this way. I mean, I can’t even set the Markers window off to the side and not have it disappear when I switch apps. It makes no sense if you have to reference different aspects of Cubase simultaneously or interact with other software at the same time. I honestly don’t understand how anyone could make a case for setting up window focus this way. It’s incredibly inefficient.
I think there might be a bug involved here in C15… I expected to be able to set AOT in that window, but when I tried, the the right-click AOT option did not appear.
In trying again after I saw your reply @raino, I discovered that it depends on the placement of the click!
In the clip below my right clicks are shown as a tiny + sign.
So @McDub1 it does work to set it as AOT, but it’s a bit of a whack-a-mole game to get it right.
I think the text in the dialog interferes, so click in an empty area.
I could be wrong, but after a thorough analysis of the video, I suspect the click needs to be placed inside the window. So it does depend on the placement after all.
You missed a tiny spot, Sir! Bottom left corner, approx. 0,5 inch upwards, black on black. That’s the area reserved for the naughty button which will randomly change your project’s sample rate during mixdown whenever uneven markers match the first number of an incorrect date format in the new hub. Don’t…!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. This is the ticket! There was nothing to indicate that this option existed, so I would have had to stumble across it by accident.
Seriously, you just made my conforms so much less aggravating.
