Is it time we had an official Cubase Stream Deck plug-in?

Yep, that’s similar to how I use mine, but I don’t limit myself to simple one-key commands. I also have macros and multi-commands that, for instance, create and name all of my eight ‘standard’ mixer view configurations. That can literally save minutes in one button press.

Going beyond the Cubase plug-in (I use the free one), the MIDI plug-in for Stream Deck adds MCU commands, which allows control even when Cubase is not in focus.

I wouldn’t be without my Stream Decks. I have the 15-button for travelling around with me, the 32-button in my studio and the Stream Deck Pedal at the opposite side of the studio for setting record/reset/playback while I’m at my Hammond.

And here’s a trick… I create a ‘virtual’ Stream Deck, an exact copy of my 32-button’s entire set of profiles (to avoid confusion), and have it pop up from a key combo (I use Ctrl-Alt-S), or a button on my 15-button Stream Deck. OK, it’s not quite as quick to access, but it’s always with me, even when my 15-button isn’t plugged in, and some of those ‘24 actions on one button’ commands are still way quicker than doing it manually.
