Is Mpeg Layer II an audio format?

Hi all,

Just exporting a sound mix for a tv station and they’re specifying Mpeg Layer II as the Audio Type. This isn’t an export option in Nuendo and I’ve never been asked for it before.

Does anyone know anything about this? Can I just send in a WAV?

Yes, that’s an audio format.
But I have never seen it used for TV Broadcast.

The format is used a lot for Radio Broadcast.
Wavelab can convert to all different formats of mp2
