Hello all,
I’m working on an arrangement of Schubert’s Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel for full orchestra. I’ve been told that my rastral size is too small and that there is too much space; however, when I try to rectify this, it becomes immediately jumbled, and the system break on page 11 is no longer there.
Would anyone be able to offer any insights into best practices?

This is an .mxl file, not a Dorico file.
Here’s what I see:
So yeah, your rastral size is too small and there is way too much white space. You are using a small rastral size …
… combined with a ton of white space between staves:
Start by bringing your spacing gaps down to something realistic. A staff is 4 spaces tall, do you really need 15 spaces, enough for 3+ additional staves, between them? After you have some reasonable spacing gaps, increase your rastral size. Unfortunately, you’ve already locked your System and Frame Breaks in, so you’re probably better off deleting all of those and redoing them once you have the size proportions correct. That will probably mess up some of your Condensing changes too, sorry.

is this spacing and rastral sizing more appropriate?
