But what about left & right locators?
Assuming snap is on, you can mouse drag both markers and they snap to the grid in the Project Page as well as the editors.
Assuming Snap is turned off, has anyone ever created either a macro or PLE that would first turn on Snap, then quantize both left/right locators to the nearest user defined quantize preset?
I have macros to move locators around, but I can’t figure out a method to quantize them.
You can quantize a cycle marker then…since it’s focused, use the KC Locators to Part as a macro? It would be nice to not involve markers, but I don’t think that’s possible?
I think with step edit mode, the cursor nudges by your current quantize setting. You could use that with the “set left locator to cursor” and then nudge the cursor to the right, to your desired end point and “set right locator to cursor”.
Or I just make an event selection and hit the hotkey for “set locators to selection range”. It’s Enter for me, don’t remember if that’s default.
@Martin.Jirsak I had thought the same idea however creating a cycle marker track is a work-around. You have to create a cycle marker, and keep the cycle marker as part of your template. Cycle markers do quantize with a PLE. Then set locators to selection.
I hardly use step edit, but yes that makes sense. I had never considered that. And then, unless I’m misunderstanding, is the same idea as Martins.
I think considering the above mentioned work-around which adds a cycle track, I’ll just live without a direct KC to quantize locators, and stick with snap-on and dragging the locators.
