Is there a direct way to apply automations in SpectraLayers?

Hello,

I use gain automations in SpectraLayers with the envelope tool near the layer icon. To print these automations into the audio, my current workflow is:

  1. Creating a group from the layer.
  2. Merging the group to consolidate the automations.
    this method works, but i feel like it is inefficient. Is there a direct way or button to apply the automations without having to group and merge?

If you’re wondering guys why I want to apply the gain automation directly to the layer, it’s because otherwise, when I drag the layer back into my original DAW (Ableton), the automations are not reflected. Some might suggest using the “Update Host File” option, but unfortunately, that doesn’t work reliably in Windows for Ableton. There’s an issue I haven’t been able to figure out yet.

As a workaround, I duplicate the layer, apply the gain automation, and then export it back to Ableton. but as i said, this requires me to consolidate the automations into the layer first. That’s why I’m looking for a direct way to apply them to the layer itself.

There’s no direct way to apply automation, but I’m adding this to the wish list (could be for SL12 though).

In the meantime, I use that workaround where I create a group from the layer and then merge the group, which in return consolidates the automation immediately, which works for now as a workaround.
