Is there a Key command for opening Dorico Help search field on Mac

In Dorico, when you click on the help menu, the first thing you see is a search field where you can type text to find menu items that include that text.

The convention on a Mac is that pressing ‘command /’ opens the help search, in every application. In Dorico, instead, it activates the “Show Help’ feature by default, which does not provide a search field. I tried to find a solution by opening the Dorico key commands preferences without success.

Steinberg does something odd when programming menus on a Mac that doesn’t align with Mac conventions, because even when I used “Keyboard Maestro,” it couldn’t be done.

I think it would be really helpful to have a quick key command that opens the search field. Does anyone have a solution for that?

The convention is for Command SHIFT / (which is Command ? on an English keyboard) to open the Help menu search field.

That works for me in Dorico. It may be the case that other keyboard languages are different.

Command / (without Shift) toggles the Status bar in the Finder and Safari.

On a German language keyboard, it looks like the Help shortcut is:

  • Umschalttaste-Befehlstaste-Fragezeichen (?): Hilfe-Menü öffnen.

You are absolutely right. Thank you!
