Is there a RECORD TOGGLE?

When recording audio or midi, I hit the default RECORD button, but if I hit it again to stop recording, the new recording disappears. I have to hit SPACE BAR to keep the recording. Is there a way to toggle the record button on and off? Could not find in key shortcuts…thanks.

Check, at the completely bottom left of the arrange page, the state of the Common Record Modes : I believe that you should activate the Punch-In/Out one.
