Every time I load a track preset the output default out to “main” Is there a way to avoid that?
Not with Track Presets. They do not retain any routing settings. However using Import Track from Project will retain the routing as long as the same routing destinations exist in both the source & destination Projects.
I used this method for years but eventually decided that maintaining a Track Library Project was more work than just changing the routing as needed.
Thanks, I’m just re-creating my “track presets” as “track archives” which retain all routing (even for multitrack vstis). This great for me because I automate inserting tracks with Streamdeck.
This used to be a huge pain for me (track presets not remembering routing) because I am using a Group as my main Master and not the Stereo Out.
But at last I have found a great frictionless solution! Use routing folders!
So when I create a track from track presets, I have a macro that selects my “ALL MUSIC” Folder, then it opens up the track preset selection, I select the preset I want, and then the track or tracks are created in the “ALL MUSIC” routing folder (so I dont have to think about routing never again).
This was an absolute game changer in my build as I go template.
Cool idea! However, “track archives” does basically the same thing as “track presets” but with routing in place (providing you have same groups of course).
