Is there a way to disable Groups?

Just like you can disable tracks, etc, is there any way to disable Groups instead of manually disabling the plugins, etc.? I don’t think so, but checking in case there’s a way I don’t know about.

Hi,

No, it’s not possible.

Hopefully, this will be available in the future—with the ability to freeze all types of tracks and waveform rendering that adapts to the processing, similar to how it works in Pro Tools.

You can create a PLE to bypass inserts and hide track.

Bypassing plugins is always possible. Just one click.

That’s not a full bypass though–it still leaves the plugins’ CPU hit.

I don’t think you can completely disable plugins (i.e. not using CPU anymore) with PLE, though I could be wrong.

The function in PLE does indeed completely disable the plugin (no CPU hit).

Awesome, thank you. You don’t happen to have the PLE script to take a pic of, do you?

Thanks Martin. This would be a great feature to have, joining the list of things that make workflow faster.

For example, this will disable insert slots 1 and 2 of the selected group track:

FWIW disabled plugins will indeed have no CPU impact but will utilize a tiny amount of RAM (depends on channel count). There’s a relevant post here
