Every time I click a track in the project window, Cubase ask me if I want a new version. This is slowing down my workflow a great deal. 
Does anyone know if there is a way to turn this off? Is anyone else having this issue?
What kind(s) of tracks does this happen on?

I don’t like this behavior either, I would like to use versions in the inspector panel. I don’t think that you can disable at the track name area, but it would be helpful.
