Is there a way to have a default distance for certain staffs?

Hello community,

I would like to show system objects at the top staff but also above the strings group. Therefore I activated this in Layout Options:

I have two issues with that:

  1. Is there a way to align the system objects across the system?

  2. Is there a way to set a bigger default distance between the Vln I staff and the staff above to give more place for system objects?

In Finale there is the function where you can add an invisible staff and place system objects “in there” to make sure they are standing out clearly, haven’t found an easy way to do this in Dorico yet. The only thing I could think of is to manually adjust the distances in Engrave mode which we are always warned of.

Two short answers: no, and no!

Not what you want to hear, I’m sure. I agree that it would be helpful if Dorico were to provide an option for an additional amount of space to leave above a staff that is showing system-attached items, but that’s not something that the software does at present.
