Yes, I have been in both views.

You would add the additional instruments to the percussionist’s layout (you’ll probably have to rename the layout), and place them accordingly.

I add the additional instruments to the drum set. I can’t get the cues to be a part of the staff. It instead displays the cue on a separate staff.
