Q: Is there a way to lock the position of the volume fader in a channelstrip?

I’m pretty sure you have to do it on the track, not the mixer. At least I don’t think so.

I should add that you can key command lock/unlock. So technically you could select the track in the mixer and lock/unlock with a key command.

Add a volume automation node to the beginning of a track. Done.
