Is there a way to pull the notes?

Is there a way to pull the notes in the blue box towards the red box area?

Please tell me a better way than the cumbersome method of selecting all the notes.

You can click into the grey line above the bars to select the whole bar. Then alt+left to move everything to the left by grid value.

Do you want to delete bar 3?

Have you done the First Steps Tutorial yet?

I haven’t read it. I should read it. Thank you.

thank you estigy

The reason why this tutorial feels difficult is because it is explained only in text…

There are no pictures or videos… Still, thank you…

There are plenty of videos too. Watch as many as you can before starting work on a project.

The First Steps guide has a lot of pictures accompanying many of the steps, but there is also a video version of John working through the guide too

In terms of your original question, if you want to delete the rest at the start of bar 3 and have the subsequent music move up:

  1. Activate Insert mode
  2. Change it to the Global scope
  3. Select the rest (just one will do)
  4. Press Delete

Result: the amount of time equivalent to the selected rest is removed from the music, and all subsequent music for all players is moved into the gap left behind.

Thank you…

I just wanted to make sure that you know you can do a marquee selection for multiple notes and don’t need to select them individually.

… or just click the first rest in the Flute, and shift click the chord in the piano’s left hand.
