Is there a way to send MIDI from one to another VST (live playing)?

Hello! I need help! I have a Kontakt Library of drums which I use for live finger drumming on my pad controller. This library doesn’t support loading any other samples, but I want to change the sound of Floor Tom. Is there a way to trigger when I am pressing a D2 note in the Kontakt library (live playing) and route this note to another VST?

Does contact have midi out capability? Some vsti do have this like SD3 for instance. It is usually in settings and not automatically enabled. You could always send midi to two vsti and change the note mapping so they don’t clash.

You can set the input for both vsts to your controller, and record/monitor both at the same time.

The Input Transformer should be your friend, in this case. Be sure to set both instrument tracks (each with their own VSTi) with the Input Transformer set as Track.

After this, use the Open panel command in its dropdown list and, in the Input Transformer window, activate the first module and set the whole window as following, for each VSTi involved. I’ll take the example of two VSTis, each having the same Input Routing and the same channel setting. The first one only plays D2 :

The second one is playing all the incoming notes, except D2:

EDIT - As things are not as intuitive as they should, the Pitch parameter is actually reachable, using the Subtype option in the dropdown list of the Filter target column.

Use (make) a Drum Map and change the output of that note.

You can also change the output note so it doesnt have to be a D2 on the receiving instrument.
