I occasionally forget to add the cmd key (ctl on PCs) to the opt-cmd-arrow shortcut to move one or more notes right or left. And it still seems to work. Is there any difference? In other words:
opt-right arrow moves a note to the right
opt-cmd-right arrow does the same thing
Let me know if this is not correct. I could not find anything in the manual for just opt-arrow. thanks.
I’m getting the same result as @dtoub with either key combo - and why a note in 4/4 on beat 4 jumps to beat 3 of the next measure is a head scratcher. It jumps over both a rest and a note to land on another rest. (edit: I just re-enter notes as needed. It’s not that hard.)
Yes I found that out by accident a few weeks ago in Engrave mode trying to indent a system to the left. Works great.
The cmd key does do something in Write mode. The one I immediately think of is opt-cmd-arrow, which transposes notes by an octave in Write mode. Opt-arrow moves a note up or down by a whole step, so the cmd key does act as a modifier.
In Key Commands, Move Left is mapped to Alt+arrow, and Move Left by Grid Value is mapped to Ctrl+Alt+arrow. But both of those do seem to move by the grid value, so I don’t know what the difference is.
@phase_Shift Do you have your grid resolution set to a dotted half note? That would explain why things are moving 3 beats for you.
